Acorn Pot - Medium

Stone polished, smoke fired lidded pot with sweetgrass handle.

Made in Eskasoni, Unamaki (Cape Breton Island) by Oakleaves Native Creations.

How it's Made:

Each piece is stone polished with a river stone until it gets a natural shine. It is then smoked in a traditional firing using fir tips, seaweed and sawdust. When the clay gets warm enough it absorbs the smoke giving each piece a beautiful and unique design.

The piece is then trimmed with braided sweetgrass, an indigenous plant used for prayer and purification. 

TIP: Dampen the sweetgrass to renew the sweet aroma.
